Empresas Randon present to the market a new investment plan in renewable energy generation to supply their industrial units. The first delivery in Brazil, of a series of projects around the world, is a photovoltaic plant with around 2,300 solar panels, which will be installed at the Randon Technology Center (CTR), in Farroupilha (RS). Overall, the company projects an investment of around BRL 100 million in these initiatives by 2030. The plan was presented this Monday, June 27, in an event for employees, partners, investors and guests.
The plant under structuring, which should be completed by December this year, is receiving investments of approximately BRL 7.2 million. It will meet 100% of CTR's own energy demand for the next 25 years. The initiative also seeks to guarantee the installed capacity at the site for the development of projects aimed at electric mobility, enabling all vehicles developed and tested at the Technological Center to use clean energy. In addition, around 30% of the energy generated will also serve the Shipping area of Randon Implementos, located in the group's industrial complex in the Interlagos district, in Caxias do Sul (RS).
The initiative is linked to the ESG commitments of Empresas Randon, to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases generated in the production process by 40% by 2030. “Actions aimed at sustainability have always been a priority for the company. We take an important step towards achieving the goals we have committed to, facing global and business challenges, as well as contributing to the economy and a better world”, highlights the CEO of Empresas Randon, Sérgio L. Carvalho.
RTS Industry, the company's unit focused on structuring robotization and industrial automation projects, will be responsible for delivering and developing the model in other units of Empresas Randon in Brazil and in other countries. In China, a photovoltaic plant project is already underway, which should be ready by the end of this month. The plant is being installed at the Fras-le unit, in partnership with the Chinese government. The panels will supply 20% of the unit's energy.
“Moves like the ones we are announcing strengthen our purpose and commitment to sustainability and the development of the communities where we operate, putting into practice the principles and strategies built by our teams around the world", highlights the President of Empresas Randon, Daniel Randon, who heads the company's ESG Committee.
