In line with the progress shown in recent quarters, Empresas Randon ended 2021 with record results in the company's history. Net revenue for the year grew by 67% compared to 2020, reaching BRL 9.1 billion Consolidated EBITDA was BRL 1.3 billion, with a margin of 14.7%, an 11% growth compared to 2020. Net income reached BRL 697.9 million in 2021, 5% higher than the previous year.
The positive performance was driven by a set of strategies implemented in recent years, such as the company's revenue diversification, which includes different geographies, capacity increase, portfolio expansion, internationalization and investment in innovation. Additionally, the heated demand in the company's sectors also contributed to the 2021 results, especially the segments of road implements, auto parts and aftermarket.
“The growth of Empresas Randon has been accelerated and in a sustainable manner, supported by our diversified business model, which increases the resilience of our operations. We expanded our operations in thriving sectors, such as agribusiness, and reinforced our presence in the aftermarket segment, further balancing our sources of revenue”, stresses the CFO of Empresas Randon, Paulo Prignolato.
The year of 2021 was also a milestone for important moves involving innovation, with the consolidation of strategic projects. The company presented NIONE, a unit created from the discovery of a new method for obtaining niobium nanoparticles on a large scale, and Fras-le Smart Composites, a product line that provides a modern alternative to items made of steel, lighter, stronger and more flexible in design for the manufacturing of structural items and with advanced engineering application. In addition, there was the acquisition of Auttom, a company focused on automation, and the creation of the first fintech of Empresas Randon, R4 Digital.

We also took another important step towards our governance, with Sérgio L. Carvalho, until then COO of the company, taking over as CEO of Empresas Randon. And all this is based on an important pillar: the sustainability, which gave rise to our ESG commitments, launched in 2021, and which are fully connected with our business strategy, with our transformation and with the perpetuation of Empresas Randon”, stresses the president of Empresas Randon, Daniel Randon.
Fourth quarter 2021 results
At the end of the fourth quarter of 2021, Empresas Randon had consolidated net revenue of BRL 2.5 billion, an increase of 41% when compared to the same quarter of 2020. Revenues from the foreign market reached USD 91.1 million in the fourth quarter of 2021, an increase of 53% when compared to the same period in 2020, driven by increased sales to South American countries and the North American market.

Along with the results for the fourth quarter of 2021 and the consolidated results for the year, Empresas Randon also presented the Guidance for 2022, which, even in a challenging year, reflects the company's solid growth.
